Golden Child is about: a person who has reached their breaking point with someone who has constantly lied to them. The narrator, or protagonist, has taken ownership of their own life and their own space, pushing the person away. The lyrics also touch on the consequences of the person's actions, particularly in relation to their child, who has returned negatively influenced by the world. The song expresses a sense of sorrow, burden, and the desire to move on from the lies and manipulation.
